Snow Day

I, unlike many, embrace snow when natured decides to bless us with the wonderful white fluffy stuff.  While it makes others grumble, I see it as a winter wonderland waiting to be explored, photographed and of course played in.  I tend to revert to a child again when it snows.  Something about the big piles of cold, wet fluff just makes me want to take a nose dive and throw snowballs at all I know who pass my newly claimed territory.

If anyone ever asks me why I like snow so much, I'll tell them "Wake up early in the morning, get bundled up nice and warm, make something hot to drink, and go outside and watch the sunrise over the freshly whitened world."  One morning, while in Rhode Island, I woke up and stood outside on the deck staring at the sun peeking through the trees.  The golden orange changed slowly to the yellowish beams of morning.  The land blanketed in white and blue was still.  No one else was outside, say for the few birds and squirrels starting to eat their breakfast at the bird feeders.  It was just so peaceful.  This, this is the reason I love winter.
