The day after Ian and Cynthia's wedding, Marshall and I headed back to Nashoba to buy some of the deliciously tasty wine we had tasted at the reception. We also took the opportunity to wander around the area and get a better look at Nashoba. It's definitely one super gorgeous place.
We bought some hot apple cider, split an apple cider donut and hit the road heading north east for Concord, MA. We stumbled upon Minute Man National Park and wandered around the area for a while admiring the beautiful fall foliage and rolling hills. From there we headed to Sleepy Hollow Cemetery because 1.) I heard it was a very pretty cemetery and 2.) Louisa M. Alcott, Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Nathaniel Hawthorne are buried there and I wanted to see their graves, especially since I'm reading Little Women at the moment. It was well worth the drive and walking around the cemetery was strangely peaceful. Later on the threat of rain increased so we decided it was best to start heading back to Rhode Island. We ended the night with a fire roaring in the wood stove, Halloween movies on the tv and snuggling under blankets on the couch. Perfect weekend.
On Monday, because it was a long weekend for Columbus day, we headed to Barden Family Orchard in North Scituate, RI to go apple picking and continue our festive fall weekend! We ended up with far too many apples, so it looks like I'll be finding/ making lots of apple recipes the next few weeks!
The last shot is really just because I wanted a picture of my engagement ring with an apple, so it has no other purpose than that :-)
